The last several days in Malta have been bustling with activity as the Malta Blockchain Summit took place last week. The event had over 400 companies exhibiting their innovative ideas, services, and digital solutions with thousands of people in attendance.

    No Shortage of Attendees

The first day of the Malta Blockchain Summit saw thousands of people attending the event where long queues were witnessed heading to registration desks to the main conference and the Expo areas. Records show that over 8500 people registered for the event and the guests included notable crypto-personalities such as John McAfee and the Winklevoss twins among many others, making it one of the largest blockchain conferences ever.

We would need a strong reason for this to break out of the zone.
News from developing countries are negative these days. So, we'd need something significant to make it break the $9,000 high(first it has to reach there), and then a big news.
A sustained buying looks like the only option with either current investors driving the market or new investors pouring in.

Otherwise we might see some people taking their money out and pouring it into some other industry for time being.

I have seen this happen in domain industry when the Chinese moved the price of $100 domains to over $2,500 in a matter of 3-4 months and then back to $200.

I agree but we've had nothing but bullish news lately and price is not affected at all. Bakkt starting in about a month, lots of banks and big names getting involved and nothing. So I can't figure out what kind of news would make it pump anymore other than price rising and getting people to fomo. That seems like the only thing that matters and kicks up speculation.

FOMO seems to be the only option in that case. Even if such a thing comes, will it be sustained or momentary is a doubt.
