There's definitely a possibility, especially with Fortune 500 companies that are starting to use ETH technology.

I think so, bitcoin seems like it will be outdated with all the new technology that's coming out. Ethereum seems like it has the upper-hand there.

Ethereum was created by an Alien, so definitely yes.
In the past few years, BTC's dominance on the total market cap has decreased from about 95% to less than 40%.

Nah, Bitcoin will remain a store of wealth while Ethereum will just be a platform for all the DAPPS, it will be valuable, but I don't think it will surpass Bitcoin

I agree with PoorKid, Ethereum is great and all but almost everyone has heard about Bitcoin by now. Can Ethereum's market cap be higher than Bitcoins? Maybe, since it has a lot more coins in circulation

I believe it will happen. It's just a matter of time. The closest we got was a couple weeks ago actually: https://rolandkofler.github.io/flipper/

ETH doesn't need to be "better" than BTC to beat it in market cap. They can both coexist as they serve different functions (one need not replace the other).

According to Paybis.com , Bitcoin is a crypto-currency, but Ethereum is actually a platform, which means it has tremendous potential. Ethereum relates “blocks,” or records of transactions, more quickly than Bitcoin and some of its users believe that this efficiency makes it easier to use.

Bitcoin is already outdated and serves no real purpose. It`s being used only for speculation and making money. You can`t store value with it and you won`t in the future.

But right now Bitcoin is used as the currency to trade alts (ETH too). Do you see us moving away from that?

It`s used for that, because it`s the first one and that`s how all exchanges are build. So I don`t see the point of your comment.

Oh I was just wondering if you felt BTC would be replaced by another coin that would be used to buy and sell alts.

I haven`t really thought about that. Things are changing fast and it`s hard to predict what could happen in few months. Some other coin might replace BTC in future, or exchanges will change the way they work and you won`t need BTC or any other exchange coin ... who knows. I am more into the tech part and I think BTC will be outdated and obsolete in near future, because of the scaling problems and the devs not being very united.

Both are brilliant options and type that we should take seriously, as they can reward us massively. However, we just need to make sure that we are open to more options instead of limiting our choice. I love this recent option of Upfiring - upfiring com, which is simply brilliant with putting us in driving seat! As one is able to earn through it by sharing and seeding files (incentivized and decentralized file-sharing). So one of the BEST ICOs at present.

WOW! I mean just after reading some replies to this post from June, I mean everything is so unpredictable that no one can even say what's about to happen. Today eth is not even a lil closer to btc and happy for the decision which i made few months ago.

    Team,
Actually we have to understand lot of issues when comparing both aspects..
    1..Technology/Platforms
    2...Market Cap
    3...Community
    4...Investments
    etc...
I will post you large post regarding above all the aspects...

Market does tend to change rapidly, making it difficult to predict what will happen.
